I scored this Chanel vintage blazer at JBBORN, a second hand shop founded and operated by television hit series Born To Style, in Harlem right before it closed. When I tried it on, I loved the fit so much, I didn't even realize it was a Chanel piece. Double win! I kept it in my closet for a while. Why do I do this? I find a blazer. I get thrilled! I buy it, and then it sits there for a while... Because I'm waiting on Michelle Obama to invite me out?
This grey blazer is a simple, classic piece that I believe can dress up any outfit. I paired it with a loose white button up and skinny jeans. I despise skinny jeans, but I have some in closet because I love the way they make some outfits look. I generally always wear my skinnies with a loose blouse, or tee shirt. If it's tight in the bottom, it's gotta be loose at the top! That's my rule. We all know I'm all about comfort and flow.
Another great way to dress up a pair of jeans or basics is to finish the look with a pair of statement shoes. I've been quite the shoe collector lately. We can never have too many shoes (or headwraps)! To add some color to the whole otherwise neutral look, I chose a bright solid headwrap and purse to create some playfulness. This look was featured on The Cut/NYMag for their #WeekendWith series, and I was delighted to not just share my personal style, but MY Harlem!
