Aight, so boom! I was minding my business one day, and Anthropologie slid in my DMs and asked me if I wanted to be best friends. I was excited about the offer, but I couldn’t really show my eagerness so I responded: It depends… Are there perks to this friendship? All jokes aside, I was ecstatic to partner with Anthropologie to put together five colorful looks for fall. I live in Austin now, and we have MONTHS of fall unlike my old city, New York City. So hunny, I’m serving: eclectic librarian and cat lover, colorful gangster who helps the elderly, romantic dame, sultry art director on a Friday night, and soulful reader and tea connoisseur.
I just had so much fun mixing and playing with color, running around my neighborhood, eating oysters and sipping on champagne. I truly put these “lewks” to the test. Is the full pleated maxi skirt twirling material? How far can I jump in this velvet mini skirt? How warm is this rust sherpa jacket? How comfortable are these soft pink suede sock booties? Are the beaded tasseled statement earrings lightweight enough?
I’m in love with all of the pieces. The only piece worthy of criticism is the Palmer Striped Sweater. I’ve worn it three time already, and each time I wear it, I complain about how itchy its. But I can’t seem to put it down because the colors are BRILLIANT. So, I’d recommend layering a a long sleeved tee underneath to maximize comfort.
My favorite pieces:
Marrakech Sherpa Jacket - This is not a winter jacket. It’s perfect for Austin fall or cool LA nights. It’s cozy, stylish, and extremely comfortable. The price point is decent for the quality.
Pleated Colorblock Skirt - One of the most beautiful skirts I own. It’s truly too versatile for its boldness. I’d wear these again with over the knee grey suede boots and evening statement earrings for a night out. It’s perfect for the holiday season and beyond.
Silent D Careful Stretch Boots - These are so simple but so FUN! I’m a size 11 in shoes, and these are incredibly soft and comfortable. Also a brilliant color to wear from fall to spring. You should never say no to soft pink booties, they’re like a fun “nude”. No?
Brynn Tie-Front Blouse - Perfect blouse to wear from the office to a night out. It looks gorgeous with jeans, leather pants, and of course the beautiful Voisin Pleated Maxi Skirt I styled it with. Basically a wardrobe staple the versatile queen.
One of my goals whenever I put together a look, is to never miss a great opportunity to mix prints. No matter how subtle. I love little playful details because they’re always great conversation starters. And to me, life is ART. You literally have the opportunity to create something magical every time you get dressed. This pleated maxi would be gorgous with any satin pump or strappy sandals, but why not have a little fun and mix it with velvet floral shoes?!
This look would be perfect for a fall wedding, or any fancy dinner party. You don’t always need a stiff gown to play dress-up. Dressing up a skirt like this means you get more bang for your buck. You can wear the pieces over and over again.
You can always dress up an oversized sweater with a great pleated skirt and metallic pumps. After oysters and wine at one of our local faves AVIARY, my husband and I stuffed our face at DAI DUE for our weekly date night. We eat a good meal, chat about life, and sometimes go for an after dinner drink. I love an full skirt for casual drama. Don’t you?
I love the print on this cardigan and pleated midi. I normally always style clothes differently than how they’re styled on a company’s website, but I just could NOT resist. Although I’m barefoot in these photos, I’d wear this with grey boots or nude pumps. This whole outfit reminded me of Sunday morning or tea time with your favorite ladies. It’s peaceful, romantic, and classic. For this post I’m basically saying you could never go wrong with a pleated midi. I picked out three skirts with similar designs and fit to style five looks. But how could I not!? They’re all so beautiful.
